Nick Chubb, the standout running back for the Cleveland Browns, will probably miss the entire season after suffering a serious knee injury on Monday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In a postgame press conference on Monday night, Browns Coach Kevin Stefanski announced that Nick had a serious knee injury. We know he’s a fantastic football player, but he’s also a great guy, so we’ll be there for him every step of the way.

In the second quarter of Monday’s game, Chubb was struck by Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, and his left knee swung inward, according to NFL.com. When medical personnel saw Chubb holding his leg in anguish, they rushed onto the pitch. He was soon removed off the pitch and declared ineligible for the match.

The number of ligaments the 27-year-old Georgia athlete had torn was unknown to Stefanski.

Stefanski responded, “I do,” when asked if he thought Chubb would be sidelined for the entire campaign.

Chubb suffered an identical knee injury in 2015 while attending Georgia State University; according to ESPN, he tore his MCL, LCL, and PCL in that incident.

In a post-game player press conference, team member Myles Garrett remarked, it’s a blow for the whole team and we don’t want his injury to be in vain. He would want us to continue, so we must. And if he had a choice, he would act in that manner. Just have to keep fighting and use it as inspiration.

Deshaun Watson, the quarterback for the Browns, claimed that Chubb’s injury brought back many memories of an earlier one he had in college.

He admitted it was difficult to reporters after the game. Although his shirt doesn’t say “C,” he is a captain, a leader, and the epitome of this team, this city, and this organization. We need to fill in some gaps for him.

On social media, congratulations for Chubb flooded in.

Lamar Jackson, the quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, tweeted: “Prayers for Nick Chubb.”

“Love you Nick…Prayers up,” tweeted Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield on social media. Odell Beckham Jr., a former teammate, also posted: “Prayin for My brother Chubb.”
