Alabama vs Texas: In a press conference held on Saturday night, head coach of the Alabama football team Nick Saban discussed the Crimson Tide’s 34-24 loss against the Texas Longhorns.
You understand that this was a test for us, Saban added. I warned the players earlier in the week that this would be a challenge, that we would face a really excellent squad, and that we would actually find out where we stood as a team. This, I said, was a test for everyone. We obviously didn’t do very well on the test that was given to the coaches, me, and the other players.
Most of the night, the offensive line was pushed around. Costly fines were assessed. After dropping two close games last season, the Tide is under fresh scrutiny.
“It all starts with me, and I obviously let our team down in terms of how we were able to execute and play,” stated Saban.
Although Texas finally prevailed, Alabama put up a good fight, with QB Jalen Milroe producing significant passing and rushing plays. He completed 14 of 27 passes for 255 yards and two touchdowns.
For the remainder of the season, Saban had faith in his team and the program despite the defeat.
I believe in these players, and I know they have worked hard, Saban added. The stadium had a terrific vibe tonight, and I applaud the supporters. They undoubtedly did their share; however, we fell short in fulfilling ours. As I previously stated, everything begins with me, but we’ll do all within our power to make things right and get them corrected.
